Flex Medicaid New Formulation Changes: What You Need to Know

In December 2020, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) introduced changes to how new formulation and line extension drugs are defined. This includes support for a scenario where a new formulation or line extension product can be considered a possible initial drug for another new formulation or line extension product. The change goes into effect for 1Q2022 Rebate Per Unit (RPU) calculations.
