Customer Success, CPQ, and a Bright Future: A Day at Salesforce World Tour Chicago

McCormick Place hosted the Salesforce World Tour stop in Chicago, an event where innovation, customer success, learning and growth were the most discussed topics. Model N interns Matt Hawes and German Munoz describe the great insights they experienced at the show.

The Conference
Once again the most innovative enterprise software company delighted us with a great event at a remarkable location. Although not comparable in size with Dreamforce, their biggest event in San Francisco, the Salesforce World Tour stop in Chicago gave us great insights and directions about where the future is pointing.

The Customer Success Expo, with over 70 booths, was a fantastic opportunity to explore new products and find future partnerships. Salesforce did a great job creating different spaces, like the Training Trailhead Base Camp or the Partner Theaters where we found -and participated- in an endless and enriching set of presentations.

An Ecosystem that Continues Improving
The prolific nature of Salesforce’s solutions was apparent throughout the event, however, nowhere more so than the Customer Success Expo, which showcased dozens of companies that have been created by taking Salesforce’s platform as their core technology. This speaks volumes about how the company based in San Francisco offers cutting-edge solutions for today’s businesses operations.

The breakout sessions and keynote confirmed what was clear in every corner of the conference. Each successive session explored more of this expanding ecosystem. With topics ranging from predictive data sciences and financial services, to sales and marketing intelligence, presentations from 8:45am to 4:45pm showcased as much of Salesforce’s potential as possible.

Driving Customer Success with CPQ
An integral factor in a successful, modern business is the use of CPQ technologies. CPQ (Configure – Price – Quote) is a type of business automation service that adds efficiency and quality control to the sales and customer lifecycle process. This type of software, coined “Quote-to-Cash”, is essential for customer success.

Salesforce, and companies that partner with them such as Model N, offer dynamic CPQ solutions that are enterprise grade, multifunctional, and serve a wide array of industry verticals. A point stressed throughout the World Tour was that these technologies are revolutionizing the way business success is measured. Instead of measuring success in profits, businesses are now able to measure in customer success, which leads to longer term relationships.

Through an ecosystem of partnerships with brands across the globe, Salesforce has developed tools that will revolutionize social selling, business processes, and customer experiences for the digital age.
