Technical Series: Integration Development Description: This course is intended for all those who will be developing custom integration solutions for the Model N application. The course covers the technical options for building custom Data Flows, including customizations to the Inbound and Outbound Channels, Custom Mappers and Parsers, Custom Processors and Importers, Setup and Teardown Plug-ins, Validation Plugins, Transformers, and Entry Configurations. The use of both XML and various formats of flat and hierarchical .csv files for import and export will be covered as well. After completing this class, students will be able to design, develop, and test completely custom Data Flow solutions to common integration challenges. Format: Instructor-led Price: $2,400 Prerequisites: Model N Developer Fundamentals Technical Series: Developer Fundamentals Description: This course is intended for all Model N developers, including those who will be doing general application configuration, extension, and customization as well as the development of custom integration solutions. After completing this class, students will understand the detailed technical underpinnings of the Model N application, including the overall technical architecture of the application; characteristics of the data model; the general strategy used by the Persistent Object Framework (POF) for defining the business model using Java Objects (including FGOs); and the architecture of the Application Component Framework (ACF) – the Java and XML mechanisms for defining the user interface and rendering (displaying) it at run-time. Students will also learn a very quick (< 30 minutes) method for creating a development environment from a production environment. Topics:
Format: Instructor-led Price: $1,600 Prerequisites: Model N Foundations; understanding of Web-based application architecture and relational database concepts; experience with XML, Java programming, and SQL Technical Series: Developing Reports Description: This course is intended for those who will be developing custom Reports for the Model N application. The course covers the architecture of Model N reporting, using Cognos Connection to explore Report Specifications and Templates, using Report Studio to modify existing and create new Report Specifications, creation of List Reports, Crosstab Reports, and Charts, creation of both model-based Queries and Queries based on custom SQL, custom Report Prompts, and the administration of Reporting metadata. This course also explores the data model in enough depth to give the report developer a head start in crafting custom SQL for their Reports. After completing this class, students will be able to modify existing Model N reports, design new custom List, Crosstab, and Chart reports, and administer Model N reports. Topics:
Format: Instructor-led Price: $1,600 Prerequisites: Model N Foundations;some exposure to computer programming languages and software development. Experience with SQL. Technical Series: Installation, System Administration, and Integration Description: This course is intended for the application support team and anyone on the implementation team who must install, populate and maintain the Model N application. After completing this class, students will be able to design the architecture of Model N production environments; perform an installation of a Model N environment (including Reports); manage Servers, Logging, Configurations, User Sessions, and Background Jobs; monitor the health of the application; monitor the performance of the application using both 3rd-party tools as well as Model N’s Performance Monitoring Application (PMA); and use and manage Data Flows to import and export data. Topics:
Format: Instructor-led Price: $2,400 Prerequisites: Model N foundations; understanding of Web-based application architecture Technical Series: Price Type Development Description: This course is targeted for anyone who needs to create or extend Price Type definitions in the Life Sciences application. After completing this class, students will be reacquainted with the business requirements that drive the need for different types of Price Type calculations; will understand the different types of input to Price Type calculations and the typical elements of a Price Type calculation formula; and will be able to examine a Functional Requirement Specification to determine Price Type requirements; and will be able to use an Excel for testing correctness of Price Type calculations. Students will also be able to use the Price Type Formula Builder in the Model N user interface to define custom Data Sources; define custom Formula Parameters; define the entire calculation methodology, including intermediate calculations and final results; and customize the display of fields in the calculation basis, in the calculation results, and in the drilldown window. Finally, students will understand how the configuration information they create and modify in the Formula Builder in the user interface is backed up by the XML metadata in the Price Type definition file and how they can use Data Flows to export Price Type definitions to that file and import Price Type definitions from that file. Topics:
Format: Instructor-led Price: $2,400 Prerequisites: Model N Government Pricing Technical Series: Model N Strategy Designer Workshop Description: This workshop-style course is for anyone who wants to use the Model N Strategy Designer to make changes to or even completely customize the logic that defines how institutional or managed care rebates are calculated. After completing this course, students will be able to use Filters to precisely define custom transaction sets to use in a calculation, create and modify Formulas to define the calculation logic, use Structure objects to define custom contract attributes required in Formulas and expose those attributes in the contract, use the Dry Run feature to debug and troubleshoot the logic in Formulas, and use the Tracker feature to import and use custom external data in Formulas. Students will learn how to use these technologies to define logic Components for both Tier Basis calculations and Benefit calculations for rebate programs. This course will cover the required concepts for using Strategy Designer but will heavily emphasize use cases and hands-on practice with the Strategy Designer tool. Topics:
Format: Instructor-led Price: $3,200 Prerequisites: Model N Life Sciences Commercial Suite Overview, some technical acumen Technical Series: Price Type Development Description: This course is targeted for anyone who needs to create or extend Price Type definitions in the Life Sciences application.
