Zack Rinat
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Zack Rinat is an expert in creating successful startup operations and new markets for advanced technology. Prior to founding Model N, he co-founded NetDynamics in 1995, a leading enterprise software company widely acknowledged as the creator of the exploding market for application servers and winner of several industry awards. At NetDynamics, Zack served as president and CEO until its acquisition by Sun Microsystems in 1998, and subsequently served as vice president and general manager of Sun's NetDynamics business unit. Previously, he held senior management positions in operations, marketing, and engineering at Silicon Graphics, Inc. and at Advanced Technology Israel. Zack received a BS in Computer Science from the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology) and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
Yarden Malka
Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer
One of the software industry's most accomplished and innovative designers of scalable, secure, and reliable systems for the Internet, Yarden Malka has more than twenty years experience delivering mission-critical networked systems. A Model N co-founder, he managed the entire engineering team as vice president of product development before assuming the role of CTO. Yarden was chief architect at NetDynamics until its 1998 acquisition by Sun Microsystems, and subsequently served as senior architect and engineering manager in the Sun/Netscape Alliance infrastructure and applications divisions. Before joining NetDynamics, he lived in Israel, where he co-founded three startups after spending six years developing and designing distributed, mission critical, real-time systems for the Israeli Defense Forces. Yarden received a BS cum laude in Computer Science from the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology).
Barbara Competello
VP, Customer Operations
Barbara Competello has years of experience managing professional and customer services and human capital resources for leading organizations. Before joining Model N, she was a vice president at ForwardHire LLC, a human capital services group, and previously was a vice president and founding member of professional services firm Gen3 Partners. Barbara spent eight years at Cambridge Technology Partners, ending as vice president for Western operations. She also served as a senior associate at Boston Systems Group (BSG) and as a systems analyst/project manager at Merrill Lynch & Co. Barbara holds a BS in computer science and economics from Duke University and an MBA from the Darden Business School at the University of Virginia.
Ariel Zach
VP, Product Development
Ariel Zach has more than 25 years experience in the software industry. Most recently, he directed all corporate engineering at Hyperion Solutions, where he managed several new R&D initiatives for the company’s data integration product line. At Hyperion, Ariel also led the company's largest development effort ever, supervising more than 250 engineers spread over three continents. Prior to Hyperion, he served as business unit manager for database development tools at Quest Software and product manager for Platinum Technology. Ariel began his career in the Israeli Defense Forces, and holds a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from Bar-llan University.
Richard Fitchen
GM, High Tech
Richard Fitchen has led sales, business development, professional services, product management, product development, and finance/HR organizations in the software industry, with teams ranging from ten to 200 people and P&L responsibility of up to $45 million. He also has significant experience developing offshore and onshore teams and partnerships and has directly participated in three major acquisitions. Most recently, Richard ran worldwide field operations at Aceva Technologies (acquired by SunGard, Inc.). Prior to Aceva, he was COO and vice president of worldwide field operations at Timogen Systems, vice president of professional services at Peregrine Systems/Extricity, and director of package-based solutions at Cap Gemini. Richard holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
Sujay Jadhav
GM, Life Sciences
Since 1999, Sujay Jadhav has played a key role in every aspect of Model N's go-to-market strategy. In his previous role at Model N as senior director of business development, he was responsible for multiple strategic partner relationships and for many of the early sales of Model N products to the pharmaceutical industry. Sujay came to Model N from consultants Booz Allen & Hamilton, where he performed various general strategy and marketing implementation projects for a major consumer goods company. Previously, he served as director of marketing support services at Singapore Telecom. A native of Australia, Sujay holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSEE from the University of South Australia.
Kamal Ahluwalia
VP, Corporate Marketing
Kamal Ahluwalia has more than 17 years of experience in marketing and business development across a range of global markets, technologies, and business models. An expert in developing and executing strategies designed to accelerate sales and penetrate new markets, he has an exceptional track record of translating ideas into operational reality at companies ranging from startups to large global organizations. Prior to joining Model N, Kamal spent several years as a strategy and management consultant at Neev Inc., where his clients included leading application software, open source BI, and integration-as-a-service providers. Before Neev, he served as vice president of marketing and business development at Selectica, Inc. and founder and CEO of Content Switches, Inc. (acquired by Selectica in 1999), where he lead the effort to provide top-line growth to the company’s sell-side process automation solutions. Kamal has also held positions at Oracle Corp. and RadioMail Corp. He holds an MS in Computer Science from Utah State University and a BS in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology.
Mark Tisdel
Chief Financial Officer
Mark Tisdel brings to Model N more than 18 years of experience leading finance functions for ERP, price management software, and other high tech companies, with deep experience in creating and running the financial and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance infrastructures for public companies. He has a proven track record of managing the financial strategy and operations of companies moving to higher levels of growth. Most recently, Mark served as vice president, corporate controller at Selectica. Previously, he was vice president of internal audit at Riverstone Networks and senior director of the Global Shared Service Center at PeopleSoft. Mark is a CPA and holds an MBA in Finance from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University and a BS in Accounting from Clarkson University.
Rene Larro
VP, Core Product Management
Rene Larro joined Model N in 2001 as the original product manager in the company's life sciences vertical, and over the last six years has been instrumental in driving the direction of the Model N commercial product suite. During this time, he has worked in various capacities with many of Model N’s major customers. In his current role as vice president of core product management, Rene is responsible for overall product strategy and identifying new market opportunities that span Model N’s verticals. Prior to Model N, he spent two years at Digital Impact (now Acxiom Digital) managing the company’s flagship product line through multiple releases. Previously, Rene was a manager with Andersen Business Consulting, where he led engagements for Fortune 1000 customers in multiple industries. He holds an MBA with Distinction from the University of Michigan, and a BS in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis.
